Anitha has experience of 20 years in developmental organization working on issues of seed conservation, food security, livelihoods and socio-economic development of rural women and also implemented projects at grassroots with elected women representatives by politically empowering women to be effective leaders.
She has been a consultant to a number of institutions in developing proposals, strategy formulation, publications and communication tools. Being a Trustee of Sahaja Samrudha for the last two decades has focused on advocacy, communication and program support. She has established innovative, remunerative Community Marketing groups of small and marginal farmers, which has stood time.
Being a freelance writer, has extensively written on seed issues, organic farming, and highlighting farmer innovations and published books. She has won the prestigious international ‘ASIA PACIFIC RICE JOURNALIST AWARD 2009’ for the best Rice Journalist.
